Welcome

At this website you find a database of randomized controlled and comparative studies examining the effects of psychotherapy for adult depression. These data are used in a series of published meta-analyses, and are now made available for free for all interested researchers.

These data have been collected and analysed by a group of researchers from the VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Linköping University in Sweden. Principal investigator is prof. Pim Cuijpers (VU University Amsterdam). More information about us...

This website can give other researcher access to the studies we have collected and facilitate replications and independent analyses of selections of studies. We hope to convey the important observation that numerous studies have already been conducted in the field, which might help researchers who plan to do new studies and hence either encourage or discourage replications without “reinventing the wheel”.

We have conducted systematic literature searches to identify randomized and controlled trials. The exact methods of identifying, selecting and analyzing the trials are described in the scientific papers we have written, but are also described in detail on this website. Read more...

At this website, we have made available some of the files that can be used for meta-analytic studies. At this moment we are working on a major update of our database. We are re-doing all the searches and all records will be assessed by two independent reviewers. After that we will completely rebuild the database of included studies. Therefore, you can download the materials up to January 1, 2013. For the update until January 1, 2014 you will have to wait until the Autumn of 2014. Go directly to the download page...

Although we have conducted large systematic searches in the literature, it is very well possible that we have missed a study that meets all our inclusion criteria (this is almost inevitable). Do you know one of these studies, please contact us...

We are continuously working on the update of the available information and downloadable files at this website. If you are interested in receiving emails when we have made a major update of this website, please send us an email and we will add you to our mailing list.

At this moment, we present only data on psychotherapy RCTs for depression. However, we have started to work on comparable databases for other mental disorders. At the "publications" page you can see which papers we already have published on meta-analyses of psychotherapies for other mental disorders.
